Important Information to Note:

Embarking on the journey to obtain your Colorado Driver's License involves crucial information that ensures a smooth and successful process. Take note of the following key points:

  • The driving test is for a regular non-commercial vehicle license.
  • If you hold an out-of-state permit or license, contact the Colorado State DMV for guidance before scheduling a third-party driving test.
  • Failing the driving test requires a retake on a different date, with only one drive test allowed per day by the State DMV.
  • If your license is expired, you must first take a written permit test at the DMV to be eligible for the driving test.
  • Out-of-country permits or international license holders must pass the written test at the DMV, meet identification requirements, and obtain a Colorado permit before taking the driving test.

Keep in mind that drive test completions are valid for 180 days, so plan accordingly to upgrade your permit to a Colorado Driver's License within that timeframe. Visit the DMV online or in person before expiration to complete the necessary steps. Start your journey towards a safe and confident driving experience today!
